Vintage movie posters are valued for a number of reasons. Depending upon the year, some of these are very rare options. Of course, this applies if you are searching for an original. There are plenty of replications available for most movies today.

Original vintage movie posters were not intended for consumer purchase. Generally, they would be distributed to movie theaters to promote a film. However, it was expected that the posters would travel along the chain of distribution once they were no longer in use. It is easy to see why they are hard to find under those circumstances. Of course, those dating during the times of the Depression are even harder to locate due to the frugality of the times.

Reproductions of vintage movie posters are very desirable today because of the nostalgia that they inspire. This can simply be part of an aesthetic emphasis for a person who was never around for the times. Of course, they can also be of interest to older people who actually saw such films in theater and love to reminisce about the times.
